CASE SUMMARY
Robert presented with diabetic neuropathy of the lower extremities complicated by heart disease and severe swelling
of his lower legs and feet. He was evaluated and found to have a 2 cm ulcer
on the right leg, reduced range of motion of all toes, loss of protective sensations bilaterally, severe sensory deficits
of both feet, pitting edema of the lower legs and ankles.
After treatments, Robert noted reduced pain, improved ability to move his toes, increased sensations in both feet (he
noted feeling the sock against his moving toes), increased strength of both legs, and the ulcer completely resolved without
complications
